Comprehensive, Customized Hair Restoration.
We offer multiple options to fit your needs. For most patients, hair loss will be an on-going and lifelong process. It is important to identify the cause of your hair loss, and the right solution that fits your goals. Your consultation will involve discussion of all of the following options to determine which solution may be right for you.
Topical and Oral Therapies
Hair follicles in different areas of the scalp respond differently to blood flow and hormones as we age. Dihydrotestosterone is a byproduct of testosterone metabolism by 5-alpha-reductase. Increased DHT can cause thinning and shedding of hair, particularly in the areas involved in male pattern baldness. Medications like Finasteride/Dutasteride, a 5-alpha-reductase blocker, can modulate this pathway and reduce these effects. Also, Minoxidil, affects smooth muscle contraction in blood vessels, allowing increased blood flow. Both medications can be used in oral and topical forms, and are part of most regimens that aim to restore hair growth.
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and Microneedling
Microneedling of the skin induces the healing process, and stimulates collagen production and blood flow. PRP contains multiple growth factors that have been shown to stimulate hair growth, and is particularly effective for female hair loss. These therapies can also be combined with Finasteride and Minoxidil.
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)
For those interested in a more definitive, predictable solution, we offer FUE Hair Transplantation. Our method involves Venus Neograft 2.0 technology to create small harvests of 1-3 hairs and create a natural result. This involves to restoration of a natural looking hair line for each patient and avoids the "plug" appearance associated with larger graft units. As hair loss is a progressive process, it is important that we discuss how this fits into a patient's lifelong hair restoration goals.
